My family and I stopped in at Blondie's Diner for lunch and as we were walking to our table,I noticed an older man looking at my family with a look you only see when someone who really loves you and hasn't seen you in a long time does. I had never seen the man before in my life and neither had my wife. He immediately told me how beautiful my kids were,then smiled and went back to eating after I thanked him. We sat right behind him and ordered our food.I noticed the man get up and head to the front,then he came back and as he was gathering his stuff,he looked at my daughter and told her he wished he had eyes as brown and as beautiful as hers,then he looked at my son and asked what color his eyes were,he talked to them as a loving grandpa would talk to his own grandkids. He smiled,walked back up to the front, and then left. A little time passed,then the waitress came over and told us that the gentleman that was sitting in front of us paid for our lunch and asked her not to say anything until he left.My wife and I had never had anything like that done to us before,we were shocked and speechless. I asked the waitress if she ever sees the man again to please tell him Thank you. She said she had never seen the man in there before but if she did,she would pass the msg. I wish I could have told him myself cause people like that need appreciation for their kindness.I like this site because of that! I will never forget what that man did for my family and I will remember his face always!
